52nd Annual Christmas Idea House

This year marks Desert Club's 52nd annual Christmas Idea House, which has become an annual holiday tradition for thousands of Valley residents. Desert Club is a non-profit, all-volunteer women's organization whose members work throughout the year making and purchasing fabulous holiday decorations, home decor, unique gifts and gourmet goodies. These items are displayed in a beautiful home that has been generously "loaned" to Desert Club by a family in our community. The home is open for tour over a 3-day period of events, where each of the items can be purchased. All of the proceeds from the Christmas Idea House are given back to the community in the form of educational scholarships and community grants. To date, Desert Club has raised more than $2 million to benefit those in need.

Our 2009 theme is "Enchanted Elves"

This beautiful 6700 square foot home sits on 1.3 acres in Jakes Ranch in Gilbert.  Built in 2008 by Pulliam Custom Homes, this home balances elegance while maintaining a family-friendly, comfortable feel.  Homeowners, Tim and Julie Vasquez, had entertaining in mind when they planned the layout of their home with the help of architect, Sean Roberts.  As the owners of Someburros Mexican Food, they are no stranger to great food and hospitality so most of their time is spent in their gourmet kitchen and family room.  However, when they entertain, they can enjoy cocktails in the wet bar or a glass of wine from the 500-bottle refrigerated wine room, just off the dining room.  Their three children love to spend time in the game room or playing with friends in the spacious backyard.  One of the little secrets of this home is the private atrium just off of the master bedroom.  It features lush greenery, patio seating, and even an outdoor shower.    This is a must-see home!

Holiday Soiree - Thursday, December 3, 2009

This elegant affair features a home tour, silent auction, live music and of course, first choice on our fabulous handmade Christmas items! We will be serving delicious hors d' oeuvres, canapé’s, desserts and cocktails continuously from 5:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Drop in for an hour or spend the entire evening! May we suggest business and holiday festive attire for this event.

French Continental Breakfast - Friday, December 4, 2009

Join us for a French Continental Breakfast on Friday December 4. This year we will be serving a French Continental breakfast at our Christmas Idea house from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. and the house closes at 1:00 p.m. You can tour the house, shop and enjoy refreshments on the spacious back terrace with your friends. Your ticket grants you access to the home tour and breakfast at any time Friday morning; come and go as you please!

Desert Club recognizes the economic downturn and would like to do our part to encourage you to continue attending our Christmas Idea House by lowering the Home Tour price to $7.00 this year. Follow signs to marked parking and take to shuttle to the Christmas Idea House for the Home Tour and fabulous shopping!
